On our trip to the USA in 2009 we stayed with our good friends, Darlene & Doyne Bruner in Colorado Springs. Our common interest is sidecars and we were provided with the opportunity to experience some great rides around the Rockies.

Mount Evans http://www.mountevans.com/ is the "road to the sky", being the highest paved road in the USA. We didn't make the summit at over 14,000 feet due to the final miles being closed due to ice. In fact the road was totally closed to traffic just 2 weeks later.

Doyne rode his Triumph Rocket 3 outfit with Darlene, plus Cosmo, the sidecar loving dog in the sidecar. I rode the Honda 1800 Gold Wing with Pat in the sidecar doing on board camera duties. We didn't see all that Mount Evans offers, but it was no less spectacular.
